Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition, and Stabilization
(PEARS)
This course covers recognition of respiratory distress, shock, and cardiac arrest in pediatric patients. Participants will review appropriate interventions designed to reduce mortality. Participants will learn initial life-saving responses and the resuscitation team concept that must be initiated within the first few minutes to improve the quality of care.
Target Audience
Designed for the healthcare provider who encounters pediatric patients within their practice but are not required to have PALS certification. Providers who routinely encounter pediatric emergencies are recommended to complete a PALS course.
Course Organization
Instructor led discussion and skill development are provided in the one day class (typically 6-8 hours). Participants are provided a student manual and must demonstrate acquisition of knowledge and requisite skills.
COST
Cost: $200/person which includes course, associated materials, and card upon successful completion.
