First Aid Provider

A first aid provider is someone trained in the delivery of initial emergency procedures, using limited equipment to perform a primary assessment and intervention until EMS personnel arrive.  In this course you will learn the essential responsibilities of the first aid provider which include:

  • recognition of the medical emergency

  • making the decision to help

  • identifying the hazards and ensuring personal safety

  • activating the EMS system

  • providing supportive first aid care

The goal of this course is to help the participant to gain the knowledge, skills and confidence to manage an emergency until more advanced help is available.  The materials are presented in an easy to learn format that includes hands-on training to promote recall.​

Target Audience
Cost

Non-healthcare providers who are required to have first aid knowledge and skills for their occupation or personal care.

$25 per person which includes instruction, course materials and upon successful completion a certification card issued by American Heart Saver Institute valid for two years.
